TF2BOLT GAME GUIDE

How TF2 crate battles work

Open the same TF2 crates round by round. Choose Regular Mode for the highest total or Crazy Mode for the lowest. Winners split the pot evenly.

Create or join a battle

Choose a format, pick up to 20 crates as rounds and create the battle, or join an open seat in the lobby. Everyone pays the same entry: the total price of the battle’s crates.

Four battle formats

Play 1 vs 1, a 3-way or 4-way free-for-all, or 2 vs 2 teams where both teammates’ totals count together.

Rounds open live

After a short countdown, every player’s reel spins for the same crate at the same time. Each result appears the moment the reel lands and is added to that player’s running total.

Winners split the pot

Regular Mode rewards the highest total. Crazy Mode rewards the lowest total. Winning teammates and tied winners split the total opened value evenly in dollars.

Bots fill empty seats

Don’t want to wait? The creator can fill open seats with bots. Bots enter for free. Their winning share is not paid to players.

Verify every roll

The server seed is locked in before the battle starts and its hash is shown from the start. When the battle ends, the Fairness button reveals the seed so you can recompute every roll.

Frequently asked questions

What is Crazy Mode in crate battles?

The lowest total item value wins instead of the highest. In 2 vs 2, both teammates’ pulls count together. The rule is fixed when the battle is created.

What happens if two players tie in a crate battle?

The total opened value is paid in dollars and split evenly between the tied winners. If both teams tie in 2 vs 2, all four players share the pot.

Can I cancel a crate battle?

The creator can cancel a battle while it is still waiting for players. Every entry is refunded in full.

What happens if a bot wins?

Bots enter for free. A bot’s winning share is not paid to players. Human winners still receive their own share in dollars.

How long does a crate battle take?

After a five-second countdown, each round takes about six and a half seconds, so a five-crate battle finishes in under a minute.

Where do my winnings go?

Your winning share is added directly to your TF2Bolt balance in dollars.
