Common qualities you will encounter
| Quality | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Unique | The standard quality for many ordinary tradable TF2 items. |
| Strange | Tracks one or more gameplay statistics and may carry Strange Parts. |
| Unusual | Carries an Unusual effect and should usually be priced effect-specifically. |
| Vintage | A distinct legacy quality with its own market variants. |
| Genuine | A distinct promotional/legacy quality used by certain items. |
| Collector's | A distinct quality that should not be collapsed into the Unique version. |
Quality is only one layer
A Strange weapon can also be Professional Killstreak. A Strange decorated weapon can also have a War Paint wear tier. An Unusual item can have additional supported attributes. Quality tells you which base variant to start from, but it is not always the end of the item description.
